Columbia University is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our Public Safety team. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between the Technology Team and other units, providing technical support and maintenance for our security systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control, supply chain management, and purchasing, with excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience with technology-based physical security devices and low-voltage electronics is a plus.
This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 - $74,986. The University is committed to hiring qualified local residents.
Responsibilities- Support the Technology Support Manager in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, restocking as necessary.
- Order parts and equipment for services, maintenance, and installations as required.
- Prepare and program equipment, as well as pre-wire Lenel enclosures.
- Assist in the maintenance of false alarms by running weekly Lenel reports and reviewing configuration of field devices and system settings.
- Provide coverage at the Manhattanville or CUIMC ID centers when needed.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years related experience required.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
