Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Healthy Minds. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for physician visits, taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records.
  • Provide clinical support, including taking blood pressure, weight, and height, and reporting patient information to physicians.
  • Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality by organizing and composing confidential documents.
  • Transmit physician orders and questions to patients and others.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work effectively with clinical staff and handle pressure from multiple providers.
  • Verify patient eligibility on EVS Medicaid and confirm purpose of visit.
  • Record demographics on EMR and collect co-pays, if applicable.
  • Prepare workstations and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Minimum of two years Medical/Administrative Assistant experience with recommendations.
  • Thorough education or training in medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid.
  • Proficiency with word processing and computer spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational skills, knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and word definitions.
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
