About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions for our air traffic control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate potential COTS replacement devices, conducting trade studies and selecting the most suitable option.
  • Perform preliminary and detailed design activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct testing and validation activities in the lab, including device-level bench testing and integration testing.
  • Develop and maintain detailed verification test plans and test reports.
  • Mentor junior engineers throughout the product development cycle.
  • Lead small teams of hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Supply Chain.
  • Complete technical documentation, including Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, and Preliminary and Detailed Design artifacts.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in electronic design, with a focus on COTS and custom hardware designs.
  • Prior experience in technical documentation and project management.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or equivalent experience.
