Job Description

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Precision Navigation (PNav) Hardware department within the Air Traffic Navigation, Integration, and Coordination System (ATNAVICS) Mechanical and RF section.

The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting all contracts associated with the ATNAVICS program, including sustainment efforts for the US military and production obligations for an international contract.

This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of crucial navigation systems serving both domestic and international needs.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in both RF and Digital Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, development, integration, and testing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing minor CCA redesigns and associated DVT testing
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues in a laboratory environment
  • Identifying form, fit, function replacements for obsolete components to support the quarterly obsolescence report
  • Identifying and documenting redlines to existing ATNAVICS documentation
  • Supporting suppliers during the build process to resolve any issues
  • Supporting manufacturing to troubleshoot electrical or RF issues found during refurbishments or production
  • Occasional travel to Largo, FL may be required

Qualifications:

  • Fundamental knowledge of microwave and digital circuit design
  • Exposure to Electrical Engineering design tools for circuit and electromagnetic simulation
  • Experience in a lab environment operating RF and standard test equipment
  • Understanding of Initial Release and Change Notice process
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance or Higher

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Understanding of radar system theory
  • Exposure to Printed Wiring Board (PWB) manufacturing
  • Experience with schematic capture and board layout tools
  • Experience with taking a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete hardware design

RTX offers a competitive salary range of $77,000 - $163,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, three weeks of vacation, and a generous 401(k) plan.

This role is a U.S.-based role, and the successful candidate will be eligible for a career at RTX upon completion of the program.
