About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join our R&D Endoscopy division at Boston Scientific. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical systems and manufacturing/test equipment for medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems and specify electrical components
  • Lead or participate in project teams to develop clear specifications, evaluate feasibility of concepts, and provide formal estimates for electrical/software designs
  • Prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate status and results
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to achieve project goals
  • Manage third-party designers and suppliers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Provide training and leadership to ensure effective operation of controls systems
Requirements
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Physics, MS or PhD preferred
  • 6+ years of engineering work experience in the medical device field
  • High-level knowledge of medical technologies, including devices, diagnostics, and imaging
  • Broad exposure to medical devices and applications
  • Practical understanding of IEC 60601 standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design of analog and digital electronics, including PCB design
  • Working knowledge of image/video processing and design of high-performance image/video processing algorithms
  • Working knowledge of optical systems, including illumination and imaging
  • Electronic troubleshooting and prototyping
  • Software/Programming skills in MATLAB, Simulink, C++, PADs, Altium Designer, OrCad, Verilog HDL/VHDL, LabVIEW, Multisim, Intel-Quartus, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite
