Job Title: Chief Credit Officer

The Chief Credit Officer is a critical role at Adams Keegan, responsible for overseeing the bank's loan portfolio, loan approvals, and risk management. This position requires a strong leader who can provide direction and support to lending staff, while ensuring the overall quality of the bank's lending portfolio.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Exercise overall management of the bank's loan portfolio, including loan approvals, loan concentrations, and risk management.
  • Provide support and direction to lending staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with regulatory guidelines and the bank's risk appetite.
  • Monitor the credit portfolio through periodic reviews of all underlying data, identifying potential areas of weakness or concentrations that produce more than acceptable risk.
  • Establish and analyze financial metrics of the bank's loan portfolio, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost controls.
  • Lead the Loan Classification Committee, exercising oversight for adequacy of risk ratings, accrual status, regulatory compliance, loan policy conformance, and recovery of problem loans and the disposition of foreclosed assets.
  • Review and analyze credits as needed, determining if all credits submitted for approval meet sound underwriting standards and do not pose greater-than-acceptable risk.
  • Develop and implement the CECL model, providing quarterly analysis of the adequacy of the loan loss allowance.
  • Primary contact for regulators, external auditors, and third-party loan reviews, ensuring a strong level of creditability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution in finance or accounting.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in leadership, credit and risk management, and credit approval of both consumer and commercial lending.
  • Computer skills, including Windows-based software, word processing, and spreadsheet applications, as well as bank software.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to establish and communicate the organizational Credit Risk Appetite.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide direction and support to lending staff.
