Job Overview

Position Summary

The Agile Product Manager will collaborate with product management and stakeholders to convert product strategy and problem-solving into a comprehensive, prioritized backlog of user stories. This role involves working closely with an Agile delivery team to implement, assess, and learn from the enhancements made. The Agile Product Manager oversees the execution of product features and the delivery roadmap for Corporate Solutions projects, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure success. They act as the 'voice of the customer', ensuring that end-user needs are integrated into the product from inception to launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates business strategy by developing a backlog of features and user stories for the delivery team.
  • Partners with Product Managers to assist in prioritizing feature enablers defined by architects within the product roadmap.
  • Engages with Product Managers and technology stakeholders to establish new or enhanced product requirements and functionalities.
  • Defines and communicates the minimum viable product (MVP) for specific applications/products along with the corresponding release plans.
  • Works continuously with teams to provide guidance, feedback, and direction on work items, enablers, and user stories.
  • Consults with Product Managers for clarity on product vision, roadmap, and requirements.
  • Collaborates with Scrum Masters and teams to outline the sprint plan based on priorities set within the overall product vision and roadmap.
  • Prioritizes the sprint backlog according to the sequencing and ranking of features established in the product roadmap.
  • Creates and documents user stories with detailed acceptance criteria articulated in the customers' perspective.
  • Works with the team to prepare estimates for user stories within the product backlog.
  • Leads user acceptance testing (UAT) activities with support from business and technology team members.
  • Articulates requirements for each feature/user story with detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Utilizes data and insights from various sources to benefit the business and its members.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify solutions that meet their business needs.
  • Works collaboratively with the delivery team to support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and long-term release planning.
  • Continuously monitors and enhances product health.
  • Ensures completed stories meet acceptance criteria by reviewing test plans and prioritizing the resolution of issues and defects.
  • Works with Scrum Masters to ensure that team-managed work achieves the highest value relative to business needs.
  • Seeks to improve processes across the entire product and delivery team.
  • Communicates effectively with team members, stakeholders, and all levels of management.
  • Participates in program-level ceremonies, including product increment (PI) planning sessions with input from the Product Manager.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance at the assigned location.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Agile software teams.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner.
  • Strong understanding of business requirements elicitation for specific programs/projects.
  • Proven experience working on Agile and/or waterfall teams.
  • Experience in creating documentation for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in a complex software development environment.
  • Agile Product Owner Certification.
  • Proficient in User Story creation.
  • Expertise in using standard documentation tools/utilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Preferred:
  • Maintains a positive and results-oriented attitude.
  • Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team.
