Eligibility
This position, Building Maintenance Specialist II (Job Requisition #49743), is open to all state employees and external candidates.
Work Environment
Responsibilities are carried out during assigned shifts at various state-owned or leased properties. The role involves handling materials that may pose health risks, including bloodborne pathogens. Candidates must be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Physical fitness is essential, as the role requires climbing ladders and lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Overtime and evening shifts may be necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess at least one year of experience in custodial work, including tasks such as floor maintenance, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
Alternatively, candidates may qualify with one year of experience as a BGS Custodian I.
Additional Requirements
Some positions may necessitate a valid driver's license and personal transportation for travel between work sites.
All candidates must successfully pass any required background investigations.
