Transportation Operations Technician II

The State of Vermont is seeking a skilled Transportation Operations Technician II to join our team. This role is responsible for performing various tasks related to highway maintenance, including repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more. In the winter months, this position will also assist with plowing and salting, and overtime may be required. Additionally, this position may assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on highways and roads
- Assist with plowing and salting during winter months
- Operate medium or heavy equipment, such as graders, rollers, and backhoes
- Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement
