The Child Care Program Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the planning, execution, and assessment of activities at a designated site.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate a nurturing atmosphere that prioritizes safety and support, while promptly addressing any issues with the Program Director or Assistant Program Director.
  2. Adhere to all relevant state regulations and guidelines, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements and mandatory training.
  3. Maintain daily attendance records and monitor the location of all children under supervision.
  4. Establish clear behavioral expectations to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
  5. Familiarize yourself with each child's profile and pertinent information.
  6. Ensure the program space is well-organized, safe, and conducive to both active and quiet activities, incorporating various interest areas.
  7. Follow up on communications from support staff and maintain a log of messages received.
  8. Check for updates in the site’s communication channels regularly.
  9. Build and maintain positive relationships with school staff, including principals and custodians.
  10. Welcome parents and children daily, providing necessary information and resources.
  11. Encourage a variety of activities that cater to diverse interests.
  12. Engage with children to promote their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  13. Ensure adherence to Child Guidance policies.
  14. Document daily snack counts and adjust menus as needed.
  15. Keep precise attendance records for all children.
  16. Manage schedules and financial records accurately.
  17. Conduct monthly safety drills and maintain all necessary documentation on-site.
  18. Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the site.
  19. Ensure adequate supplies are available for daily operations.
  20. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  21. Stay informed about YWCA's mission and objectives.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; advanced qualifications in Early Childhood Education or related fields preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in managing group activities and program planning.
  • Ability to meet state licensing standards.
  • Current CPR and AED certifications.
  • Registry level qualifications in supervision or management.
  • Capability to create a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Sound judgment and collaborative decision-making abilities.
