Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Organizational ContextThe King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) is a pivotal administrative body dedicated to overseeing programs and funding related to homelessness in the Seattle-King County area. Established through an interlocal agreement, KCRHA's mission is to unify and enhance the homelessness response system, ensuring effective use of public resources while centering on equity and social justice principles.
Team StructureThe Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role within the KCRHA's Compliance Team, a subset of the Finance Division. This team collaborates closely with the Contracts and Accounting Teams, as well as the Programs Division, to manage grant funds aimed at homelessness services. Responsibilities include strategy formulation, procurement, contract execution, and compliance oversight, ensuring alignment with KCRHA's overarching goals.
Role ResponsibilitiesThe Coordinator will contribute to the agency's mission by engaging in various initiatives that promote housing solutions and combat homelessness. Key duties include:
- Becoming a subject matter expert on relevant grant regulations and requirements.
- Providing specialized knowledge to stakeholders to aid in the development of compliance strategies and training programs.
- Collaborating with various teams to enhance project management related to regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Serve as an internal authority on grants and contract compliance, offering guidance to stakeholders.
- Conduct regulatory research to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Support the creation of monitoring plans and participate in audits and site visits.
- Assist in developing tools for tracking compliance progress.
- Contribute to internal systems related to grants management and compliance monitoring.
- Engage with community organizations and partners to foster continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver training on grants management and compliance practices.
We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to equity and possess the following qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in grants management and compliance.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
- Experience in developing training materials and conducting training sessions.
- Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite.
