Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Utility Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production operations team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production lines.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the safe and efficient operation of production lines, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Perform daily plant and line inspections to identify and address any potential issues or hazards.
- Report any problems or concerns to management, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Perform special assignments, such as rework, line assessments, and training, as required.
- Isolate and correct any issues on the production lines, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Understand and comply with all production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Review daily production schedules to ensure accuracy of material usage and generate product profiles and pallet tags.
- Set up codes for each sub-assembly, program codes into coders or devices as necessary, and train personnel on equipment as needed.
- Coordinate with Forklift Drivers to return defective product to the production line for rework.
- Visually inspect product for defects, wrong codes, broken glass, dented cans, and other issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company policies.
- Maintain accurate paperwork during relief of Machine Operators A and B or Forklift Drivers.
- Notify management immediately in the event of material shortages, line shutdowns, quality issues, or other problems.
- Ensure accuracy of case codes, packaging materials, and production items.
- During non-relief periods, continually inspect lines for quality issues and ensure standard line speeds are maintained.
- Operate equipment and/or machinery as necessary on production lines.
- Complete various reports, such as downtime reports, line inspection sheets, and production reports.
- Must follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain adherence to Food Safety procedures and principles.
- Stop any production that may be questionable in terms of Food Safety and immediately alert a member of the management team.
- May be assigned to rework full product containers.
- May be assigned to verify inventory counts of finished goods or raw materials/packaging.
- May be assigned to disseminate instructions from management personnel.
- May perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Compliance with GMP policies.
- Ability to operate all machinery and/or equipment on production lines.
- Passing of forklift certification program.
- Basic computer experience.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must be able to stand during entire shift.
- Must be able to reach above shoulders frequently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to bend/stoop frequently.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to withstand temperatures below 50 degrees F and above 95 degrees F.
