Resource One Credit Union is on the lookout for a skilled Accounting Manager to enhance our finance team. The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in supervising various accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable, fixed asset oversight, and cost accounting. Key responsibilities encompass generating periodic financial reports, conducting data reviews and reconciliations, and contributing to the development of financial data. This role also involves managing entries and adjustments to the Credit Union's records, assisting in financial analysis, and preparing budgets. Furthermore, the position requires providing essential information for informed decision-making, training accounting staff, and staying updated on developments and legal requirements in the accounting field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the precise execution of accounting functions and responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation of regulatory and governmental financial reports
  • Manage the Credit Union's fixed asset portfolio
  • Prepare journal entries and balance complex accounting tasks
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial analysis
  • Provide leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication
  • Conduct performance evaluations as necessary
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and errors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training
  • Experience in a financial institution is required
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience, is preferred
  • Experience with Prologue and Symitar is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical proficiency in accounting principles, practices, procedures, and financial reporting
  • Understanding of applicable regulations, statutes, and filing requirements
  • Ability to assist and supervise team members
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Successful completion of employee screening processes is required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Stationary work requiring prolonged periods of standing or sitting
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • Visually verify numerical details for accuracy
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to access and navigate the facility with reasonable accommodations
  • Lift and carry small parcels and packages
