Position Overview:
The successful applicant will:
Possess a solid background in monthly closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries.
Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines for monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closures.
Exhibit proficiency in Excel and other financial software.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Work independently with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly accounting journal entries.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations.
  • Execute processes during the monthly closing cycle.
  • Develop, update, review, and distribute schedules and financial reports related to various accounting functions.
  • Analyze and verify accounting reports and records to support data requests for regulatory filings and audits.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly documented and comply with GAAP, FERC, SOX, and other regulatory standards.
  • Provide support to both internal and external customers as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with 2 years of relevant accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Alternatively, a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with 5 years of relevant accounting experience is acceptable.

Communication Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers to clarify and explain complex technical concepts, both verbally and in writing.


Analytical Skills:
Capable of performing analyses involving ratios, percentages, and basic statistical methods.

Technical Skills:
Familiarity with various software applications for creating documents, reports, and graphics.

Work Environment:
Operates in an office setting, with occasional requirements for physical activities such as bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting.
