Position Overview

We are seeking an Editorial Director for our Fortune CEO Initiative to take a leading role in shaping one of our flagship membership communities. This individual will collaborate with our editorial and conference teams to continue building the membership of CEOs, inform and help set the agenda, including speakers and main stage/breakout topics, in order to bring our journalism to life onstage.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Fortune CEOs to build must-follow CEO coverage and a must-join CEO membership.
  • Interview a CEO each week and turn the interview into a column as well as a weekend edition of CEO Daily.
  • Write cover stories and features for print and online.
  • Help assign quick-hit stories from interviews and events to junior writers in the newsroom.
  • Work with tech/product to create a specialized section of Fortune.com for the CEOI community.
  • Expand our CEO community and related events into a must-belong membership.
  • Host CEO dinners and moderate fireside chats.
  • Moderate and contribute to live programming for key franchises.
  • Work with sales team to attract sponsors for CEO content and related events.
  • Collaborate with the membership team to recruit new members and nurture current members.

Professional/Personal Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in journalism/interviewing.
  • Strong network of CEOs and C-Suite executives.
  • International experience in the field of journalism.
  • Knowledge and interest in global business and economic issues.
  • Creative thinker and curator of ideas.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Effective writing skills and a record of journalistic integrity.
