Key Responsibilities

Are you seeking a rewarding role that offers flexibility and quality time for family and outdoor pursuits in the Ozark mountains? Our established practice is expanding and looking to add a dedicated BC/BE neonatologist to our team of 4 neonatologists and 6 NNPs. This role allows you to work in a supportive environment while caring for a select number of critically ill or extremely premature infants.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience, prefer a private practice model grounded in evidence-based medicine, and be a collaborative team member who values a positive work atmosphere. Opportunities for leadership roles, particularly in POCUS or resuscitation, are available, and we encourage the development of specialized skills that can benefit the team. We are open to both part-time and full-time arrangements for the right candidate.

Neonatologist Work Schedule:

  • Approximately 6-7 shifts per month as the primary neonatologist providing routine daytime care (IN HOUSE typically from 8 am to 5 pm) with AT-HOME call and backup for 24/7 IN-HOUSE NNP for the remaining hours.
  • Average daily patient load of 25, divided among 1-2 neonatologists and 1-2 NNPs.
  • Average of 34 admissions monthly, including 2-3 infants born under 1500 grams.
  • Approximately 6-7 shifts per month as a backup neonatologist providing routine daytime care for about 5-8 Level II infants (IN HOUSE for approximately 3-5 hours daily).
  • Participation in high-risk deliveries (under 27 weeks, significant anomalies, etc.).
  • Provision of comprehensive AAP Level III care (excluding ECMO and cardiac surgery).

NICU Environment:

  • State-of-the-art, 46-bed Level-III single patient room NICU.
  • Competent NNPs provide 24-hour, in-house coverage.
  • Dedicated procedural nursing team for high-risk deliveries and NICU transport services.
  • Specialized SLP, PT, OT, RT, and pharmacy professionals available 7 days a week.
  • Utilization of EPIC and Baby Steps Cloud EMRs.
  • Pediatric sub-specialists provide in-person or telehealth coverage.
  • Highly skilled and proactive nursing staff.
