Key ResponsibilitiesAre you seeking a role that offers both flexibility and the chance to spend quality time with family? Our established practice is looking to expand our team of neonatologists. This position allows for a balanced workload while providing care for critically ill or premature infants.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience, have a passion for evidence-based practices, and be a collaborative team member who enjoys a positive work environment. Opportunities for leadership roles are available, particularly in areas such as POCUS or resuscitation, and we encourage the development of personal expertise to benefit the team.
Neonatologist Work Schedule:
- Approximately 6-7 shifts per month as the primary neonatologist, offering routine daytime care (IN HOUSE from 8 am to 5 pm) with AT-HOME call support.
- Average daily patient load of 25, shared between 1-2 neonatologists and 1-2 NNPs.
- Monthly average of 34 admissions, including 2-3 infants weighing under 1500 grams.
- Approximately 6-7 shifts per month as a backup neonatologist, providing daytime care for about 5-8 Level II infants (IN HOUSE for approximately 3-5 hours daily).
- Participation in high-risk deliveries (under 27 weeks gestation, significant anomalies, etc.).
- Provision of comprehensive AAP Level III care (excluding ECMO and cardiac surgeries).
NICU Environment:
- Modern, 46-bed Level-III NICU with single patient rooms.
- Dedicated NNPs providing 24-hour in-house coverage.
- Specialized nursing team attending high-risk deliveries and offering NICU transport services.
- Access to NICU-focused specialists in SLP, PT, OT, RT, and pharmacy available seven days a week.
- Utilization of EPIC and Baby Steps Cloud EMRs.
- In-person or telehealth coverage by pediatric sub-specialists.
- Highly skilled and motivated nursing staff.
