Land Surveyor

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Surveyor 1 to join our team at IMEG Corp. in Bozeman or Billings, MT. As a Senior Surveyor, you will provide leadership in the daily operations of survey activities, including construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys
- Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports
- Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software
- Responsible to maintain, and verify accuracy of project survey data and manage to company standards survey database
- Proficiency with survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects
- Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors, and other survey equipment
- Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed
- Advance the professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets
- Mentor and assist in training junior staff members
- Operate a company vehicle
- Observe safety and security procedures
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles, and practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents
- Knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies
- Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes, and problem-solving techniques
- Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems
- Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software
- Advanced problem-solving techniques
- Proven people management and leadership capabilities
- Possesses oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers, and professionally represent IMEG
- Travel may be required
- Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or Associates Degree preferred
- LS required
- 8+ years of experience
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship
