Join the State of Montana's team of professionals as a Surveyor II or III in the Billings District. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing advanced technical and professional field survey work, serving as party chief for field surveys, reviewing surveys to determine the validity of the evidence and methods used, and ensuring accurate survey information. You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and inventories, and performing other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize and oversee straightforward survey projects
• Sign off on uncomplicated survey projects
• Analyze evidence to determine boundary locations
• Stake/document property boundaries
• Coordinate survey reviews to ensure quality, consistency, efficiency, and compliance with established standards and policies
• Make professional-level survey calculations
• Carry out complex drafting
• Provide training to field survey crews and coordinate the operation and maintenance of survey equipment within the unit
Requirements:
The Survey III is in charge of all survey work being performed under their PLS license.
