Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and developing strategic relationships as a trusted advisor. The incumbent will be responsible for renewing existing business and selling new products and services to ensure retention and growth of profitable business.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in stop loss, third-party administration, and self-funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior-level clients, consultants, and brokers/producers.
    • Create valued business partnerships and demonstrate business acumen.
  • Sales and Business Development
    • Review new products, services, capabilities, and technologies with clients to sell assigned product lines, renewals, and add-on sales.
    • Develop sales solutions considering increased competition and changing market conditions.
  • Business Planning and Execution
    • Develop, implement, and execute business plans and metrics for retaining and growing membership while enhancing profitability and cross-selling.
    • Conduct routine service calls and serve as the primary group contact for strategic planning and consultation.
  • Customer Support and Advocacy
    • Support customers during the implementation of sales contracts and throughout the relationship.
    • Advocate for escalated services issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Complete and maintain sales projections, finalize rates and benefit adjustments, and prepare reports and documents for renewal and sales presentations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School / GED
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, or related field
  • Experience
    • 2-5 years of related and progressive account or client management experience in the area of specialization
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • State-specific producer licenses for life, accident, and health are required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire

Work Environment

This role is office-based and requires occasional travel from the office to various work sites or from site-to-site.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and be able to navigate complex business relationships.
