Electromagnetic Control Systems Engineer

Skyryse is revolutionizing the aviation industry with its innovative SkyOS operating system, providing a fly-by-wire flight management solution that simplifies flying. As an Electromagnetic Control Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and certifying the electro-magnetic motor control software for our aircraft.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software for electro-magnetic control systems working with system engineers and architects to ensure certification.
  • Support the analysis of controllers to ensure they meet performance requirements.
  • Develop actuator models for use in analysis and work with the systems group to meet DO-178C objectives.
  • Interface and control various peripherals such as motors, encoders, and sensors with the embedded software team.
  • Develop software using Matlab/Simulink and write, review, and approve system and software requirements and design documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional working experience.
  • Proficiency with tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and dSpace.
  • Proficiency with actuator modeling, classical control analysis techniques, and field-oriented control.
  • Strong understanding of frequency domain and self-starter ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering discipline.
  • 6+ years of professional working experience.
  • Experience with embedded systems, design, development, verification, and certification of Fly-by-wire operational flight software using model-based development conforming to DO-331.
  • Experience with certification of software, systems, and subsystems working with DER/FAA.
