Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Decarbonization Subject Matter Expert to join our team at Dewberry. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in providing technical guidance and leadership to our design resources in the areas of energy engineering and decarbonization/electrification projects.



Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to project teams on decarbonization and electrification projects.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies related to decarbonization and electrification.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their energy and carbon goals, and provide design concepts and solutions to meet those objectives.
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials to promote our services related to decarbonization and electrification.
  • Supervise and mentor mechanical discipline managers to ensure successful intra-office operations.
  • Ensure that mechanical discipline managers are applying and complying with corporate quality management processes and procedures.
  • Provide technical training and development of staff related to energy planning, modeling, and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Lead the development of office mechanical standards and coordinate those standards across offices.
  • Engineer of Record on select projects as needed.
  • Provide technical interface with code officials and contractors.
  • Active member/leader of local and national technical organizations.

Requirements
  • Accomplished mechanical engineer/PE with 20+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of mechanical systems, thermal energy infrastructure, and clean energy technologies.
  • Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success in meeting contract specifications and achieving high performance and advanced energy design standards.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
