Job Overview

Position Summary:
The E-Commerce Operations Specialist is responsible for sourcing items, crafting detailed descriptions, capturing high-quality images, and uploading them to the online platforms managed by Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest. This role also involves addressing customer inquiries, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate records of online inventory. A clean, organized, and safe workspace is essential. Candidates must successfully complete a background check.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience or training in a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are essential to the role:

  • Adhere to the directives, policies, and standards set forth by Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest.

E-Books Management:

  • Receive donated books from various sources for scanning and processing.
  • Scan books for online listings while maintaining proficiency in E-Books processing software.
  • Possess knowledge of online marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay.
  • Organize books, audio media, and DVDs on designated shelves.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and manage complaints as directed by management.
  • Track shipments using individual tracking numbers.
  • Provide friendly customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Communicate customer-related issues to management promptly.

Specialty Items and Jewelry:

  • Understand precious metals, gemstones, and synthetics.
  • Identify brand stamps, including high-end and vintage items.
  • Learn to operate jewelry testing equipment.
  • Utilize computer software for image uploads and research.
  • Demonstrate photography skills to capture detailed images of items.

Online Auction Management:

  • Stay informed about antiques and marketable merchandise.
  • Create precise and concise descriptions for items listed on auction sites.
  • Upload images and descriptions to the appropriate online platforms.
  • Return unsold merchandise as instructed.
  • Organize listed items and prepare sold items for shipment.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all clients.
