Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our medical office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets and acknowledges patients, informing medical assistants and providers of their arrival
  • Answers incoming calls and provides accurate information to callers
  • Instructs patients in completing medical history and other patient information forms
  • Collects demographic and insurance information from patients and reviews their account information
  • Explains financial requirements to patients and refers complex insurance/benefits questions to the Practice Billing Department
  • Evaluates patient financial status and establishes payment plans as needed
  • Accurately completes and interprets insurance and benefits verification
  • Scans patient information into the EMR system
  • Schedules follow-up appointments and notifies patients of service requirements
  • Records record requests and reviews HIPAA requirements
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge experience preferred
  • Minimum of one-two years of patient registration/front office experience in a medical or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of insurance rules and regulations, medical terminology, and computer scheduling systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff members, patients, and the public
  • Previous experience in collecting money is preferred
