Position Overview

Davidson Dining Services is actively seeking dedicated individuals to become part of our culinary team. As a Culinary Services Team Member, you will play a vital role in supporting a dynamic and high-energy dining environment. You will have the opportunity to work with fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment, engaging in a culinary experience that transcends basic food preparation. This position offers approximately 15-20 hours of work per week, with a requirement to be available during evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals according to specific orders.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables.
  • Measure and weigh ingredients accurately.
  • Transport food items safely between workstations, cooking areas, and storage facilities.
  • Store food items properly, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Distribute necessary supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality and portion control.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to guests.
  • Process orders accurately using the point-of-sale system.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions responsibly.
  • Support dishwashing duties during peak meal times.
  • Prepare the dining area for service.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all dining service standards and sanitation protocols.
  • Assist with special events as required.
  • Adhere to the uniform policy at all times.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by supervisors or management.

Working Environment

This role may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.

Seasonal Considerations

Dining Services Team Members may be assigned to different dining locations, and work availability may vary during academic breaks.
