Job Title: Director of Planning and Architecture

InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Planning and Architecture to join our team. As a key member of our planning and architecture department, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of architectural plans and designs for various projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture and planning, with experience in managing teams and leading projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of architectural plans and designs for various projects
  • Manage and lead a team of architects and planners to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence

Requirements:

  • Professional degree in architecture or a related field
  • Professional architect license in the state of Maryland or a state with reciprocity
  • At least 20 years of experience in architectural planning and design work
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in managing teams and leading projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other departments
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in architecture or a related field
  • LEED Accredited Professional
  • Strong architectural technology skill base, including proficiency in software such as Google SketchUp, Photoshop, and Bluebeam

Salary: $126,000 - $220,800 Annually (Commensurate with experience)

Location: Hybrid: On-site 3-4 days a week
