Pharmacist Job Description

As a licensed pharmacist, you will provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, ensuring every customer's needs are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall operation of the pharmacy, maximizing profit and minimizing expenses.
  • Ensure all pharmacy associates comply with company standards and regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to associates, addressing complaints and solving problems.
  • Perform special projects and respond to pharmacy needs for relief coverage and travel locations.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Perform all functions of the pharmacy manager, including supporting divisional and corporate promotions.
  • Administer immunizations to customers and complete clinical services according to case load.
  • Dispense or compound medications to customers, following laws, regulations, and ethics standards.
  • Verify the work of pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Engage the pharmacy team to maintain day supply and follow protocol on recalls.
  • Communicate information regarding on-going special programs with department members.
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal laws and guidelines, including HIPAA and fraud, waste, and abuse.
  • Promote trust and respect among the team and ensure professional standards are met.
  • Check in vendors according to standards and maintain accurate records.
  • Maximize gross profit and minimize operating expenses, reviewing and analyzing financial reports and data.
  • Listen to and handle complaints appropriately, maintaining confidentiality of customer records and information.
  • Time management, including breaks and meals, of all pharmacy personnel.
  • Assist store leaders and associates in providing a positive customer shopping experience.
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  • Understand and follow company guidelines regarding registers, payment, and transactions.
  • Display a positive attitude while interacting with others and adhere to safety programs and procedures.
  • Report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud, and reflect an appropriate and respectful business image.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized space, including the pharmacy, register, refrigerators, and blood pressure machine areas.

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
  • Must be a licensed pharmacist, in good standing, within the state(s) of the region.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, with previous experience preferred.
  • Immunization-certified through APhA and CPR-certified through an accredited, state-approved organization.
  • Effective and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.
  • Valid Driver's License.
