Job Overview:

The Pharmacy Consultant plays a critical role in optimizing medication management and improving patient outcomes. As a subject matter expert, the Pharmacy Consultant brings expert pharmacy knowledge and expertise to healthcare organizations, patients, and other stakeholders, collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement medication-related strategies and policies.

• Provide expert pharmacy consultation services to healthcare organizations, patients, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and implement medication management strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
• Conduct medication therapy reviews to identify and resolve medication-related problems.
• Provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and interactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement medication-related policies and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in pharmacy practice, including new medications, drug interactions, and regulatory changes.
• Develop and deliver education and training programs for healthcare professionals and patients.
• Provide guidance and support to pharmacy staff on medication management and dispensing practices.
• Analyze medication utilization data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical pharmacy or pharmacy consulting role.
• Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in medication management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with healthcare teams and patients.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with medication therapy management software and electronic health records (EHRs).
• Flexibility to travel as needed.
