Job Summary:

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Technician 2 to join our team. As a Biomedical Technician 2, you will be responsible for performing routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, ensuring compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.
• Prioritizes workload effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate medical equipment documentation.
• Orders parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.
• Conducts cross-training in the techniques of testing, calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting biomedical systems for less experienced technicians.
• Reports and documents all medical equipment operation errors and safety issues.
• Maintains medical equipment technical library and makes updates when appropriate.
• Supervises services provided by outside vendors to ensure quality and scope of services have been met.
• Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Commitment to the University's core values.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
• Any relevant education, certifications, and/or work experience may be considered.
