Job Summary

As a Biomedical Equipment Technician at GE Healthcare, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment in our facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate, diagnose, and repair biomedical equipment, as well as perform planned maintenance and safety inspections. You will work closely with our team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within your assigned area.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose biomedical equipment issues, implementing appropriate repairs and performing planned maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Assist more experienced technicians on basic and complex repairs/resolutions.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to strong customer relations and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Implement GE/customer facility contract and support business goals/objectives.
  • Work as a member of the local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within your assigned area.
  • Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
  • Ensure proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, and ensure calibration.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • OR equivalent military education.
  • OR participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment.
Working Conditions

Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
