Lead Electrical Engineer – Spacecraft Systems

About the Role: As a key player in a pioneering New Space startup, you will take charge of the Design, Development, Integration, and Testing of advanced Avionics Hardware and Systems.
Your responsibilities will include leading the development and implementation of innovative Avionics and Electrical Systems, which cover Harnessing, Battery and Power Systems, Sensors, Mechanisms, Navigation, Safety Systems, and Flight Computers, all while adhering to strict timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, construct, and evaluate avionics systems.
- Accelerate execution and iteration processes to enable rapid deployment of hardware into orbit.
- Promote technical excellence and accountability within the Avionics engineering team by mentoring new engineers and establishing high standards for performance.
- Create avionics systems that align with organizational and mission objectives while introducing new capabilities for the in-space economy.
- Facilitate requirement negotiations by thoroughly understanding the company and mission goals and offering alternative solutions.
- Develop and implement testing strategies that align with the mission's risk profile and take ownership of test campaign outcomes.
- Conduct design reviews, test readiness assessments, and flight readiness evaluations with a strong focus on technical quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.
- Over 3 years of experience in designing intricate electrical and/or control systems that function in challenging environments (such as autonomous vehicles, drones, spacecraft, etc.).
- Able to adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining flexibility in direction.
- Proven track record of delivering innovative and high-quality technical products.
- Experience in managing analytical outputs and integrating feedback into design processes.
