Job Summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Airport Operations Coordinator. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of passengers through the terminal facilities while maintaining an optimal customer experience at CLT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect terminal curbsides and facilities to identify and address any discrepancies or issues.
  • Enforce rules, regulations, and customer service standards to ensure a positive experience for passengers and tenants.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and relationship management to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Investigate and document incidents related to general liability.
  • Assist in coordinating customer service efforts during periods of irregular operations.
  • Support airport tenants with passenger movement and security screening checkpoint monitoring.
  • Assist with lost and found activities and airport information desk operations.
  • Respond to and participate in airport emergencies and significant incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the airport.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent and three years of related work experience, or an associate's degree and one year of related work experience.
  • Relevant experience in airline operations, airport operations, airport security operations, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with airline management, federal partners, co-workers, and the public.
  • Ability to represent the airport in a professional and positive manner, providing exceptional customer service to the traveling public, tenants, co-workers, and others.

Working Conditions

  • This position requires a high level of physical ability, including visual acuity, hearing, and strength.
  • The position spends approximately 80% of the time walking and/or standing.
  • The position involves extensive public contact and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in customer service, airport operations, or a related field.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
