Position Overview

K&L Gates is in search of dedicated, innovative, and diligent professionals with varied backgrounds and perspectives to enhance our team. We are currently seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to support our legal teams across various locations in Texas. This role involves assisting attorneys by executing a range of management tasks and conducting thorough factual inquiries. The individual in this position will undertake legal responsibilities that necessitate considerable independent judgment and may oversee and mentor junior paralegals and project assistants.

Key Relationships
Collaborative interactions with supervising partners, practice group leaders, attorneys, administrative directors, and external clients are essential.

Core Responsibilities

• Analyze, organize, and summarize information pertinent to specific legal inquiries, presenting findings in a clear and structured manner.

• Leverage the firm's technology and software, particularly those tailored to specific practice areas.

• Conduct factual research utilizing diverse resources, including libraries, online databases, and client information systems.

• Maintain organized client and matter-specific resources in both electronic and physical formats.

• Communicate project outcomes through well-crafted memos, emails, or other appropriate formats.

• Support all phases of legal transactions or litigation, including drafting legal documents, coordinating evidence submissions, managing trusts and estates, and assisting with property transactions.

• Uphold the firm's administrative standards by accurately recording time entries, participating in administrative meetings, and managing client-related information.

• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers, adhering to the firm's procurement guidelines.

• Provide training to project assistants on specific project-related tasks as necessary.

• Execute legal functions that require significant independent decision-making.

• Develop and implement procedures to enhance the delivery of legal services.

Qualifications and Skills

• A college degree is preferred, along with a minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in relevant fields.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized practice group technologies is essential.

• Ability to produce precise and accurate results.

• Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

• High attention to detail and the capability to follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

• Critical thinking skills to make independent decisions regarding daily responsibilities.

• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and Excel is beneficial.

• Ongoing awareness of industry trends and developments in the legal field is expected.

Additional Information

This position operates primarily in an office environment, requiring routine use of a computer and standard office equipment. Physical tasks may include opening file cabinets and lifting files.

Compensation
The salary for this role will be discussed during the interview process and will vary based on experience, expertise, and market conditions.
