Security Officer Role

The Bizzell Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our Center, its staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular foot patrols of assigned areas to identify and address potential safety hazards and security threats.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, student employees, and staff.
  • Perform building security and safety checks to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and policies.
  • Investigate complaints and incidents, and prepare written reports as required.
  • Provide transportation services as needed, and investigate vehicle accidents at the Center.
  • Issue visitor passes and temporary parking permits, and perform main entrance duty.
  • Assist staff in quelling disturbances, and prepare written accident reports and other reports as required.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and training of security cadets.
  • Participate in the preparation and enforcement of the Center's safety and fire prevention program.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily briefings with security cadets to review assignments, procedures, and protocols.
  • Provide written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, and provide vehicle checks to entering and exiting traffic.
  • Adhere to required property control policies and procedures, and work towards meeting performance standard goals.
  • Comply with all relevant guidelines, regulations, and policies, including those related to DOL, OFCCP, and Quality Assurance.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas, and comply with safety practices.
  • Follow the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily, and help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
  • Demonstrate and abide by The Bizzell Group's core values and operating principles, and model, mentor, and monitor Career Success Standards.
  • Participate in PRH mandated staff training, and assist in maintaining student security and accountability during training and activities.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related field; safety-related training preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a residential living setting and background in youth programs preferred.
  • Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of basic security procedures and operating security and surveillance equipment.
  • High level of good judgment and observation skills.
