About the Role

Bizzell Group is seeking a highly skilled Safety Officer to join our team at the Guthrie Jobs Corps Center in Oklahoma. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe working environment for students, staff, and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and provide written feedback to the Safety/Security Manager.
  • Assist the Safety/Security Manager with safety-related investigations and security duties as directed.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for new students and employees.
  • Monitor the Center grounds daily to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain the Center Safety Committee to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Conduct regular vehicle safety checks and communicate concerns to the Safety/Security Manager and Senior Driver.
  • Assist the Safety/Security Manager in maintaining a vibrant and strong Safety Cadet Program.
  • Attend regular OSHA and DOL Safety training to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Work towards meeting performance standard goals and adhere to required property control policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Two years' experience in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and regulations.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
