Position Overview:

Alliance Cancer Specialists is expanding its Radiation Therapy team. We are in search of a dedicated Radiation Therapist (per diem) who embodies compassion and attention to detail. This role will primarily operate within our network of practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and document radiation therapy treatments under the guidance of radiation oncologists and chief radiation therapists.
  • Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of patient treatment parameters in the electronic medical record system.
  • Engage in the clinical training of newly hired therapists and students.
  • Interpret computerized treatment plans with precision.
  • Manage patient appointment schedules and submit accurate billing information.
  • Participate in the education of radiation therapy students.
  • Perform accurate block cutting and create custom molds as necessary.
  • Conduct simple dose calculations with precision.
  • Assist in equipment Quality Assurance and daily patient care Quality Assurance as required.
  • Participate in chart audits as needed.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other staff members, including mold technicians and simulation therapists.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program with a minimum of seven years of active practice as a Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT). ARRT certification is mandatory, along with a valid state license for radiation therapy.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position require regular sitting and the use of hands for various tasks. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching are necessary, with the ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal ranges.
