About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Edgewater Family Medicine Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and obtain brief histories, alerting physicians to potential life-threatening situations and recognizing critical diagnostic data.
  • Document patient vital signs and other pertinent information, reassessing patient conditions following therapeutic interventions and coordinating the execution of physician orders.
  • Communicate with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and maintain steady patient progress through the department.
  • Ensure adequate discharge instructions are given to patients, including family members when available, and refer patients for future care as needed.
  • Perform waived laboratory testing procedures according to protocols and demonstrate continued competency in patient testing, quality control, and proficiency testing.
  • Accurately document patient visits, telephone calls, refill requests, and other encounters in Epic Ambulatory.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and dedication to adhering to organizational, departmental, and regulatory compliance standards.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Minimum of one (1) year directly transferable experience
  • National certification from NCCT, NHA, AMT, or AAMA required at time of hire
  • BLS certification required at time of hire
