Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant/Certified MA to join our Neurology Clinic team at Salem Health. As a Medical Assistant/Certified MA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and obtain brief histories, alerting physicians to potential life-threatening situations and recognizing critical diagnostic data.
  • Coordinate the execution of all physician orders, determining priorities of care and intervening in cases outside normal clinic protocol.
  • Communicate with co-workers to facilitate continuity of care and maintain steady patient progress.
  • Ensure adequate discharge instructions are given to patients, including family members, and refer patients for future care as needed.
  • Perform waived laboratory testing procedures according to protocols and demonstrate continued competency in patient testing.
  • Accurately document patient visits, telephone calls, and other encounters in Epic Ambulatory.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and dedication to adhering to organizational, departmental, and regulatory compliance standards.

Requirements
  • Minimum of one year directly transferable experience preferred.
