About the Role

Salem Health is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Sleep Clinic team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and obtain brief histories, alerting physicians to potential life-threatening situations and recognizing critical diagnostic data.
  • Assess and document patient vital signs and other pertinent information, reassessing patient condition following therapeutic intervention.
  • Coordinate the execution of all physician orders, determining priorities of care and intervening in cases falling outside normal clinic protocol.
  • Communicate with colleagues to facilitate continuity of care and maintain steady patient progress through the department.
  • Ensure adequate discharge instructions are given to each patient, referring patients for future care as needed and providing community resource information.
  • Perform waived laboratory testing procedures according to protocols, demonstrating continued competency in patient testing, quality control, and proficiency testing.
  • Accurately document patient visits, telephone calls, refill requests, and other encounters in Epic Ambulatory, ensuring others can follow events with certainty.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and dedication to adhering to organizational, departmental, and regulatory compliance standards.

Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year directly transferable experience strongly preferred.
  • National certification from NCCT, NHA, AMT, or AAMA required at time of hire.
  • BLS certification required at time of hire.
