Geotechnical Laboratory Technician I

RCG Moody International Limited c/- Intertek is a prominent provider of quality assurance and safety solutions, seeking a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician I to enhance our Professional Services team. As a leader in construction assurance, testing, and inspection, RCG Moody International Limited c/- Intertek offers a wide range of services, including construction materials testing, geotechnical analysis, environmental engineering, and specialized assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate laboratory equipment and perform geotechnical tests, such as Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analysis, Unconfined Compressive Strength, CBR, and Swell, while providing comprehensive data analysis through detailed reporting.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and diagrams to observe site activities and execute tasks effectively.
  • Document observations meticulously and provide preliminary interpretations of results.
  • Maintain thorough records and data from testing outcomes.
This position is a general outline and does not encompass all duties. The incumbent is expected to meet both mental and physical requirements to fulfill the outlined responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as necessary.
  • Capability to lift, move, push, and pull weights ranging from 30 to 50 pounds regularly; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to comprehend detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Occasional kneeling and squatting required.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional climbing and working at different heights.
  • Availability for overnight shifts and flexible hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of experience in soils laboratory testing.
