Job Summary:

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, assist with patient preparation for exams, and ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient procedures, collecting path and lab specimens as needed.
  • Notify patients of results and schedule follow-up appointments, ensuring seamless communication and care.
  • Educate patients and respond to their questions in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies, maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or Dermatology Technician is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10 codes, with the ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and colleagues.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a well-lit medical office environment, with occasional evening and weekend work required. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and seeking guidance as needed.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess the manual dexterity to operate office equipment, including computers and calculators, and will be able to stoop, bend, and move to complete tasks and errands. The ability to handle sharps and chemicals is also essential.
