As a vital member of our team, the Interior Design Sales Specialist is dedicated to delivering exceptional service while understanding the unique requirements of Interior Designers as they explore our extensive showroom offerings. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing personalized assistance to the trade community. The Interior Design Sales Specialist will support designers by presenting tailored options that align with their client's project specifications. You will create outstanding experiences by collaborating closely with our Sales Coordination team to ensure that all customer expectations are fulfilled from the initial inquiry to the final delivery of products.

Location:

This position is based in our Minneapolis showroom.

Main Responsibilities

Engage

  • Proactively navigate the showroom and welcome clients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Foster and nurture relationships with trade professionals in the local area.
  • Communicate with clients through various channels to update them on promotions and events.
  • Evaluate customer needs and propose tailored solutions that add value.
  • Introduce new clients to our diverse range of products and services.
  • Identify customer requirements, address product inquiries, and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Gather samples and swatches for client consideration.
  • Provide detailed product information regarding aesthetics and functionality.

Advise

  • Utilize expertise in color, design, and furniture layout to assist clients effectively.
  • Curate and present product suggestions based on client requirements.
  • Offer comprehensive solutions by introducing additional product categories relevant to their projects.
  • Employ technology to showcase options, colors, and product features.
  • Verify pricing and availability of items as necessary.
  • Adapt to client preferences for communication, whether in person, via email, or phone.
  • Promote complementary products that align with project needs.
  • Collaborate with product specialists to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Facilitate introductions to other product experts within the company as needed.
  • Manage existing client relationships while seeking new business opportunities.

Resolve

  • Collaborate with clients on final selections, noting specifications and lead times.
  • Utilize digital tools to ensure accurate information is relayed to support teams.
  • Regularly follow up on pending quotes to maintain engagement.
  • Send thank-you notes to clients post-purchase to enhance relationships.
  • Deliver a superior customer experience both before and after the sale.

Professional Growth

  • Understand and contribute to showroom sales objectives and company goals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and product lines to enhance knowledge.
  • Provide internal recommendations based on customer feedback.
  • Collaborate effectively with all internal departments.
  • Participate in the development and execution of sales strategies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Engage new potential clients to expand your business portfolio.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding outstanding quotes.
  • Meet established sales targets on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Ensure showroom displays consistently reflect company standards.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture that values collaboration.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the designer furnishings sector.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic and results-driven mindset.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with high energy levels.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a design firm or high-end furniture retail is advantageous.
  • A degree in design or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
