Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Schneider Packaging Equipment Company, Inc. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing professional equipment installation, maintenance, and customer support services for a complete range of Schneider products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Schneider equipment at customer locations.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of Schneider equipment.
  • Meet Schneider's quality standards while maintaining working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices.
  • Manage assigned projects, ensuring schedules and objectives are met, and customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Utilize Dynamics 365 Field Service Module to complete daily time entries and provide trip report entries detailing service trip progression and results.
  • Manage trip expenses using SAP Concur platform.
  • Provide in-house technical and phone support when requested.
  • Use a wide variety of resources, including hand tools, computers, and software, to perform routine and non-routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and reports.
  • Support back office functions, ensuring all daily/weekly documentation is completed, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in applied technology or completed mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Short-term training in programmable controllers is desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in a field service capacity or as a plant maintenance technician.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and programming background, including robotics and PLC ladder logic. FANUC robotics experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding meeting deadlines.
Work Environment

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee will be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

All employees are responsible for product quality and are required to understand and follow quality system procedures. All employees have the responsibility, organizational freedom, and authority to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
