Customer Service Lead Job Description

SpartanNash is seeking a Customer Service Lead to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high standard of front-end operations in our stores. As a key member of our team, you will supervise and direct front-end activities, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately process transactions, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, and ID requirements.
  • Ensure return-to-stock items are handled promptly and efficiently, with a focus on perishable items.
  • Train and develop team members to perform all department activities and functions.
  • Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of team members to meet or exceed departmental productivity levels.
  • Handle spoiled/damaged products according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
  • Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines, Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations, and Guest Experience Guidelines.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Proficient in computer skills, including email and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping skills and ability to interpret/analyze financials.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets.
  • Ability to delegate, direct, and implement tasks.
  • Knowledge of suggestive selling and products.
  • Detail-oriented.
