POSITION SUMMARY
Amethyst Consulting & Treatment Solutions, PLLC is in search of a dedicated Medical Assistant to support healthcare providers in delivering quality clinical care to patients. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including clinical, administrative, and laboratory tasks, with significant patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient intake procedures, including measuring vital signs and gathering relevant clinical information.
- Manage telephone communications with patients, accurately documenting interactions and adhering to established protocols.
- Administer prescribed medications and injections, ensuring compliance with medication administration guidelines.
- Assist with clinical procedures, including high-level disinfection and sterilization tasks.
- Support patients by accurately completing necessary forms and documentation.
- Assist in the documentation of laboratory results and data collection.
- Collaborate with the care team in managing patient populations effectively.
- Prepare for provider appointments by reviewing schedules and anticipating needs.
- Conduct vision and hearing assessments.
- Document phone interactions according to established guidelines.
- Perform additional clinical and administrative tasks as required, within the scope of practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Experience with laboratory specimen processing.
- Basic knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, coding practices, and clinical pharmacology relevant to medical assisting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Performance Management Systems.
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team.
- Completion of accredited Medical Assisting coursework.
- Recent experience in a healthcare environment within the last five years.
