Job Overview

Position Summary: The Plant Operator is mainly tasked with supporting the operation of the Units essential for the daily functioning of all production activities, which encompasses: Catalyst Regeneration, Catalyst Sulfiding, and Catalyst Screening.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Changing bins as required
  • Staging feed sacks for processing
  • Lining and preparing drums
  • Managing the disposal of trash drums
  • Conducting unit blowdowns and cleanup before and after operations
  • Ensuring cleanliness in the change-room, control room, and break area
  • Assisting in the assembly of classifiers
  • Collaborating with the Shift Supervisor to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Regularly reviewing document updates to maintain compliance with operational standards
  • Following the Job Shutdown Checklist, which includes verifying product and waste container counts, making sample requests, checking labels, and obtaining final sign-off from the Shift Supervisor
Compliance with Safety Standards:
  • Adhering to safety equipment policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and Permit-Required Confined Space Entry Program
  • Understanding emergency protocols
  • Documenting specific workbook requirements
Qualifications:
  • Fostering a safe work environment by consistently promoting adherence to safety protocols and leading by example
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Assisting with the unloading of chemical delivery trucks as necessary
  • Regularly labeling products with precision
  • Counting bins and verifying counts accurately
  • Understanding hazardous waste labeling procedures to ensure proper drum labeling
  • Managing various paperwork throughout the shift with a focus on detail
  • Sampling Catalyst products during the shift
  • Participating in all required training and meetings (technical, safety, environmental, etc.)
  • Engaging in monthly safety meetings
