Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced financial crime investigator who possesses critical and strategic thinking skills to effectively manage investigations. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing information meticulously and driving investigations to timely conclusions.

Team Overview:
As part of the Global Investigations - Financial Crime Intelligence and Investigations (FCII) organization, you will contribute to the Global Financial Crime & Customer Protection (GFCCP) program. This role involves supporting PayPal's Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance initiatives by conducting intricate investigations, identifying patterns of financial crime, and collaborating with both internal and external partners, including law enforcement, to uncover trends and emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze investigative leads and root causes to identify broader policy and product issues.
  • Provide verbal and written briefings to stakeholders regarding current and emerging threats.
  • Proactively engage with partners to explore collaboration opportunities, raise awareness of findings, and formulate recommendations to mitigate risks.
Daily Activities:
In your daily role, you will:
  • Conduct thorough, high-quality investigations that reveal financial crime patterns and trends, supporting the mission of the Global Investigations team to reduce risk for PayPal and its users.
  • Employ critical and strategic thinking to look beyond initial facts and drive investigations to resolution.
  • Identify potentially suspicious activities across various platforms and jurisdictions.
  • Respond to requests and fulfill time-sensitive regulatory obligations, such as Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
  • Work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines, demonstrating a sense of urgency when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Professional experience in Intelligence Analysis, Law Enforcement, or Financial Crime Investigations is preferred.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and interpret large datasets with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and accurately to all management levels.
  • Problem-solving abilities that include managing competing priorities effectively while maintaining urgency when required.
  • Familiarity with Federal Regulations (Bank Secrecy and USA PATRIOT Acts) and governing bodies (FinCEN & OFAC), as well as regional laws, is preferred.
