Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of financial records, overseeing transaction categorization, managing vendor payments, and documenting general ledger activities from various software platforms. Responsibilities include conducting reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts, preparing comprehensive financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This role also involves reviewing payroll processed through external applications and requires effective communication with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support. Strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a solid grasp of accounting principles are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Categorization: Ensure accurate categorization of bank and credit card transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Vendor Payment Oversight: Manage accounts payable for significant vendors, ensuring timely payments and fostering positive relationships while monitoring cash flow.
  • General Ledger Management: Record and reconcile general ledger activities from client software platforms.
  • Merchant Payment Reconciliation: Address discrepancies in merchant payments processed through the software promptly.
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations: Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Generate detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Industry-Specific Financial Acumen: Maintain an understanding of industry-specific activities to ensure accurate financial statement presentation.
  • Payroll Review: Review payroll processed through third-party applications.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders via digital platforms, providing financial updates and guidance.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer software, including Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
