{"POSITION OVERVIEW

This position will play a crucial role in advancing the skills and training of the bargaining unit workforce in the Electrical Department. As a hands-on assignment, you will work side-by-side with Silver Bell electricians to ensure knowledge transfer and the use of best practices for the electrical maintenance field while demonstrating the work performed for the purpose of instructing and training employees in the electrical maintenance field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Provide individual mentoring and training for electricians to advance their knowledge and troubleshooting skills of all equipment.

2. This position will work in all areas of electrical to train and assist, when necessary, in the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all equipment.

3. Review current maintenance programs and recommend changes or practices that will improve reliability.

4. Work hands-on with the electricians to teach them best practices.

5. Assist in developing action plans to improve reliability of problematic equipment.

6. Understand testing equipment and computers for use in diagnosing and locating problems or malfunctions in equipment.

7. Assist in the planning of maintenance on all equipment.

8. Ensure engagement with all electricians so that they view this position as a resource to call upon when needed for technical support.

9. Continually reinforce best safety practices and ensure electricians know the hazards associated with working around electricity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Thorough understanding of trouble-shooting tools and practices
  • Teaching and mentoring capabilities
  • Manual dexterity and an eye for detail
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing

  • Knowledge of mathematics and mechanics
  • Identification of safety hazards and a keen sense of safety practices

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the mining industry
  • Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of AC/DC systems, drives, and electric shovels


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to walk over rough terrain, sit, climb ladders and stairs, squat, kneel for extended periods of time. Work environment is outdoors and indoors, working at extreme temperatures, weather conditions and may be exposed to chemicals and explosives.
