About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef-Buffet to join our culinary team at L'Auberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Develop and implement menu planning, including menu engineering and cost control.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, food safety, and sanitation.
  • Lead and motivate a team of cooks and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional results.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and high customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, menu innovations, and culinary techniques.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Proven track record of menu planning, cost control, and kitchen operations management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
